Joseph Boamah Darkwah is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Professor Steven Szczepanek’s Lab. He earned his B.Sc. (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Cape Coast before completing his national service at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research. His research centers on the development of innovative, rationally designed universal vaccines and therapeutics to combat viral respiratory and other emerging pathogens, with the goal of strengthening global pandemic preparedness.

Outside of his academic and research pursuits, Joseph enjoys singing, reading, spending time with friends, and engaging in volunteer activities.
