Morgan Hunte is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Steven Szczepanek’s laboratory, specializing in host-pathogen interactions and vaccine development for significant pathogenic Mycoplasma species. Her current research focuses on investigating the structure, function, and role of lipoproteins in Mycoplasma pneumoniae disease. Morgan also contributes to collaborative projects on nanoparticle drug delivery vehicles, the phylodynamics of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and its pathoadaptive mutations, and microneedle patches for advanced drug delivery.

Outside the lab, Morgan is a regular at UConn women’s basketball games, enjoys Renaissance Fairs, and loves spending time with her cat, Pepper. She loves learning new things and continually seeks out new experiences like gardening, sewing/quilting, and learning new languages.
